13X Molecular sieve is primarily used for refinements of liquids and gases. Its pore size is roughly 10 angstroms which is considerably larger than any of the type A sieves. It can adsorb all molecules that can be adsorbed by 3A, 4A, and 5A sieves. Type 13X can also adsorb molecules such as aromatics and branched-chain hydrocarbons, which have large critical diameters.
It has become one of the most reliable desiccants for a variety of applications including:
Air refining by removing carbon dioxide and water
Oxygen PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process
Removal of grease and solvents
Removal of mercaptans and hydrogen sulphide from natural gas using patented Zeochem technology
Removal of mercaptans and hydrogen sulphide from hydrocarbon liquid
